I love Rafa but he does have a bit of an ego. At no point did he give Eddie directly any credit, seemed to pin a lot of it on the new ownership. Understandable given his own frustrations while at the club, but he should be more acknowledging of Eddie's brilliance – I guess he has one eye on the job in case we slip up.

As someone has already said below it was bit churlish of Rafa to side step praising Howe directly by talking up the owner's influence. He's perhaps still a bit annoyed that he missed the boat on the new ownership given he was closely linked to Staveley, and Staveley just couldn't get over the line in terms of buying the club when Rafa was still manager.
