It didn’t stop us bidding for Botman when Milan were bidding for him so if we wanted him we would bid weather arsenal were in for him or not. I don’t think he’s in our plans. Eddie saying we only want the right players is basically telling us that they have other priorities in my opinion.

Not ideal perhaps, but might be best to wait towards the end of the window when other clubs have completed their transfer business before putting in a bid; less chance of any deal being hijacked then. Paqueta would be a good addition, would provide quality & strength in depth

Think we need to just increase the overall team. Plus we should think about Bruno being happy playing at Newcastle. Hope they get this guy. Strikers will be out there in the future.

Belotti and Paqueta would be a dream window. Not sure why, but our owners and the decision makers don't seem interested in free signings. Maybe it's Eddie's stance on keeping everyone on similar wages, and free signings want more. But surely any player currently in the squad would understand that. I've heard others tout that Belotti is 'too old' at 28… Come on… 3-year contract, he'd only be 31 at the end of it. A player valued at 100m a few seasons ago, a proven goal scorer. It should be a no-brainer.

Rob I would love it if he was the 'special one' for this transfer window. What a statement of intent from our new owners. Our midfield would be a force to be reckoned with and the goals would come. Let's just wait and see 🖤🤍🖤🤍

We have to get him now it just makes 100% sense surely Howe and Dan know he's everybody's dream signing..A statement signing! ..Your right after world cup he will go up in price if Brazil do well my fingers are crossed

Does no one fancy Lacazette? They’ve just signed Jesus and he knows for a fact he won’t get much game time so why not? We wanted him a while ago until he ended up at Arsenal 🤷🏻‍♂️

I agree with you all I would live him , but at the minute the club are pushing for a striker and a wide player I have that from a very good source in the club . But we will just have to be patient and see if we can add Paqueta to our squad

Our owners will, rightfully, not be swayed by personal relationships or fan favouritism on signings. They have a long term plan to make Newcastle an international powerhouse in football. Paqueta is a fantastic player and an obvious signing in my view. However, if he is not part of the recruitment directive then so be it. I would suggest patience and trust in abundance to the NUFC faithful. They are not here to simply take part. They are here to take over. That will take time.

The wind is blowing from the North. The Geordies are coming.

I don’t understand why we have to be so careful of FFP. Surely we are no where near the cap? Having only spent around 60 mil. Even if we spend another 100mil we should still be under. So many clubs spending much more than us on players.

I can’t help feeling that we are a bit late to the party this window. Too much time wasted on the Eketeki ordeal as well as Botman. I know Dan Ashwood wasn’t at the club at that time but I’m hoping his experience in transfers and negotiations puts a stop to all the bullshit delays and agent games and just move on to the next target.

I see people saying they don't want him we need a striker and a right winger but he's played in both these positions for Brazil. I really think we have an agreement with him and that's why he asked for the transfer and we are waiting to get him for as cheap as possible and that's why we haven't signed anyone because we're seeing what we have left after he comes.
