Think a lot of Newcastle fans get geed-up for Villa because of the flags (Sob on the Tyne, Who's your saviour Ant or Dec?, etc) that were created for us getting relegated all those years ago. It was particularly painful because of the mess Newcastle were in at the time, because we had been through Keegan, Kinnear and Shearer that season and it was clear that Ashley was toxic.
I think Villa and Newcastle have similar painful stories in recent years and both clubs look to be finally getting over those, albeit Villa are currently going through a bad patch right now. Emery looks a class appointment and some of the recent signings look like they can help push Villa on going forward. Hopefully we can see Villa and Newcastle pushing the top 6 over next few years.

My summary firstly well played Newcastle sorry fellow villa fans you can't play poorly and win 4-0 I think what Max is getting at is that we were so terrible we made it easier for Newcastle,but you still have to beat what's in front of you and lets face it on another day they score six barring the woodwork and it doesnt flatter them lets be real here. Newcastle are a big club and I remember the 90s they were quite the team. As for villa well I think we see the problem and its not the manager it's the players theres some mental issue with them and they seriously need to snap out of it. I think we are set back two seasons and should just look to stay in the league this season. We will do well to get any points put of Man United at home and Brighton away. I fear if we do get into a relegation scrap we will really struggle because we don't have the battle hardened sort of players that you need for a relegation scrap. Emery has a big job on his hands.
