EKITIKE NOW IN TALKS WITH PSG!!

The drama of Hugo Ekitike to Newcastle United continued this morning with reports that he is now in talks with PSG.

No doubt his agent is playing a big part in this and the player himself is clearly doubting a move to England after we have been in for him since January.

When is enough, enough and we walk away?

Do you think that all this drama is just paper talk and ITK bull in an attempt to make the Toon look bad. Maybe they're both signed and just holidaying. If the world cup was going on now instead of the winter no one would be stressed. Plenty of time.

  2. Athar Siddiqui

Put in an offer they cant refuse. If its not accepted THEN move on. Why are we so reluctant to open the purse for players we really want? I know about principles and all that. But we DO have money now, so splash the cash and bring in the best. Dont be shy about it!

  3. Gary Mcburnie

I'm hoping we are looking at other players who no one knows about then getting them then saying tuff luck boatman you had your chance. They gonna miss out on an amazing time at toon.

  4. Jeff Baker

We only see Hugo and Sven, Ashworth better be working on alternatives behind the scenes. I would hate to burn so much time on 2 guys that are not interested for whatever reason. And then we spend time on a goalie and left-back when we really dont need that. Targett should have been signed on day one. None of the Lodi stuff. Make something happen.

  5. Mike Trembath

If he comes, big if, the transfer saga is just adding pressure on the lad and expectation. If he was really wanting to come here, he would be here. Move on, get people who want the move!

  6. Shana Jackson

Let's be honest this guy has never wanted to join us, 90% of fans knew this how come the top brass at Newcastle don't understand this? Move on and find a better target, same for Botman, we need to move on and find better players that want to join. I mean who is this player? scored a few goals in a poor league and is already labelled injury prone. Let him go sit on the bench at PSG.

  7. Nathan Fox

Personally don't think PSG have a serious interest and it's just the agent pushing his clients name into the market.

Same as I said about Botman, leave the bid on the table and move onto option 2, if option 2 signs take the bid off the table. It'll be Eketeke's loss in the end

  8. Anthony Molloy

These are great players, they want to go to the best clubs. I don’t blame them.

It’s like we’re Durham university. If they can’t get into Oxford and Cambridge through clearance, then they’ll come to Durham.

    Patience is a virtue

Not sure psg have ever got a CL cup…anyway I am also sick of these deals paul. Ekitike especially.

Ekitike had the opportunity to come in January, he didn't fancy it. I'm not sure where is mind is at the moment but one thing is certain, agent or no agent, if he wanted the deal to happen he'd be holding the shirt aloft by now. Reims have never been the barrier with this one, it's in ekitikes hands.

He’d be silly not to consider moving to PSG if they’re interested, that doesn’t necessarily mean he’s messing us around or isn’t interested in our project

  11. Alan Oubridge

Everyone and their dog knows the new Newcastle United and our project. Personally I wouldn't haggle with anyone. "we want you, this is our plan and future. Are you in? If not, see ya later". Greedy agents, greedy clubs. We are United, Newcastle United. You will remember us and you didn't join us. Simple.

  12. James Smith

I think there was always going to be a few deals which we as fans would like to happen fall through because teams will be trying to push us as far as possible (can’t blame them). To my mind I’d much rather miss out on a couple exciting players but set a precedent that we won’t be paying extortionate prices in the market. I would adopt a somewhat clinical approach, of course you have to be a bit flexible and accommodating when negotiating but there should be a limit after which we drop out of the deal completely and move on. Clubs and players will soon get the message.

  13. Foxxyy

Agents role is to get clients the most money & best sporting project. No doubt ours is good with potential but I find it hard for anyone to be surprised that Ekitike would pick PSG or even Dortmund ahead of us. He only joins us based on money so still a slim chance but back to reality for us

  14. 13guns

Stay in it until the end. Just cos an agent in talks doesn't equal a bid or a purchase. He wants psg then good luck to him. He wants to stay in France good luck with that. All likelihood he plays only a few games and is sold in for 10m after a few loan stints. Psg is not a club where you can grow, it's where you go when you're established. He's better off at toon but I'll lose no sleep over it. At 19, gonna be a while until he's close to a finished player.

  15. Keith Deitz

It's still very early in the window but to actually improve the squad we may need to look almost exclusively at players on free transfers if this is what every other club is going to put us through

  16. Rocco Brown

keith downie tweeted today saying “Personal terms are close to being agreed with Hugo Ekitike ahead of his proposed move to Newcastle” bloody hell this is giving me a headache

  17. Colton Conner

I’ve faith in are lads and Howe to get us in the ucl these so called elites don’t want to earn there stripes… but yet they want to jump on the band wagon for the guys that actually done the hard work ?

  18. Kriswan Sully

I don’t understand our fans…just bloody wait until the club makes an announcement that they’ve made a signing…all this noise has come from our own fans and the media(who make it up) fans saying they are fed up with the Drama? they’ve done that to themselves.

  19. durban skyslot

I think this will happen for every player we go for unfortunately!

    TOON TAX.
    NO EUROPE.
    THE PREMIER LEAGUE CABAL.

Three major factors against us which is going to make it nigh on impossible for this club to operate.

  20. Jonathan Waugh

Said it a couple of days ago, time to move on, and while we’re at it black list Lille and ekitiki’s agent permanently, complete total and utter time wasting money hungry bastards the pair of them.
