Also the Red-Card-Cookie Monster Jonjo will split the lines and stages brilliantly for Wood’s to ride the offside line like a water banana ride… up until he gets sent off because blowing & growing grass looked at him wrong so he must take down by the roots!!

Duh me…! I just realised our two new signings played together for the Eddie-da Gaffa-Howe before; nothing but positives all round playing, recruitment, experience, minimal injures; played every leagues aka match fit, etc etc. list is as long as all the arms in St James

Talk sport being the ass of ask questions. Don’t blame them for the questions but the negative spin they put on this club just for the ratings is obvious. Especially Gabby the plank.

They should apply the same strategy and activate the release clauses of key players of rival clubs, Sarr is a no-brainer, they will become a massive threat with both Sarr and SM upfront and this Burnley guy. Other positions should come as loans.

As a Burnley fan Chris Wood has had an excellent 4 or so years with us but this season just hasn't been up to scratch.

I just hope this sale can work in our favour if our owners are willing to reinvest this money (which I'm not at all certain they will).

All the best Woody top man ?

English Journalists are terrible. Always trying to catch players out in the interviews. The question about his age and transfer fee and drama with Burnley when there was none. How are you really supposed to answer these kind of questions. Embarassing

Seriously, what is the reaction from Burnley fans??? Genuinely curious. Obviously a MONEY move. Who joins a team worse than the one he's leaving when a relegation scrap is imminent??? A heel for leaving Burnley at this moment. A mercenary for grabbing MBS's dirty money. Wood can't be too worried about his rep. haha

We needed a striker. Eddie said he wanted PL experience. I like a few of the younger players we are linked with like the French 19 year old..he looks exiting and has scored goals…we need goal scorers as well as defenders…Wood has hit double figures every full season..we cant ask for more than that as 1st attacking player signed…in time for Watford too..Haaland can wait till next week lol

Signing a solid 30 year old striker could be what Newcastle need just to stay in the EPL. If they stay up and consolidate, Woods will be 32, 33 and at a stage where he will be replaced by a higher level of player, but he will have done his job.

Now who’s next? We can’t admire the work we’re doing. We have to keep signing these kind of players if we want any chance of staying up.
