Newcastle United have plans to make a splash in the transfer market, thanks to their new incredibly wealthy owners. Chris Wood is the latest player to move to Tyneside, with a switch from relegation rivals Burnley.

But why is switching from one relegation-threatened side to another be a good move for Wood? And, how would he benefit Newcastle?

It should also be said that while our defence is still mince, we do create quite a few chances, which should hopefully only increase with Trippier in the team. Taking that into account and how few chances Burnley historically create, then it may be that Wood is better than his 1 in 3 stats suggest. Who knows though, but it's something to think about. Also maybe someone will tell me that Burnley actually create loads of chances by humping it up the pitch, but it's been my perception that they have always tried to keep it tight and nick it.

This signing will prove to be a total disaster in the coming months, mark my words (I hope he does well but I don't see that happening at all, and for the price he came he'll be one of the worst signings of the last few years)

You show your ignorance of Newcastle United by brushing Joelinton off as 'in midfield now and then" if you had watched lately you would know how good Joelinton has adapted to his new midfield role.

If you think Joelinton “isn’t very good” you clearly haven’t been watching Newcastle play – since moving to midfield under Howe, he’s been outstanding. Best player on the pitch against Man Utd for example, up against “superior” players

Could be a little to late, should pickup more points but Bottom 3 are well adrift with only Watford close. Norwich are a certain to go down, Burnley look disadvantaged by woods move. So it’s between Watford and Newcastle. Although these improvements help Watford are more likely to Win more games. Next close team Leeds are much better than the bottom 4 with missing players returning all the time.
