I'm a Toon Supporter so am happy with this, but I do feel for The Hammers, a team I have had a soft spot for since Bobby Moore and Geoff Hurst. I think you guys are suffering from the same issues Newcastle used to have before takeover, namely a poor quality board who don't do what's best for West Ham, in terms of managers player recruitment etc. Shame. But you guys will come good again.

Sad news but hardly surprising. I hope our academy does not become non viable and no longer seen to hold any value of importance. It used to be one of the best in the country and has always been the diamond in the West Ham club.

Players, backroom stuff…. they’re dropping like flies. Youth system being systematically pulled apart. Tony Carr must be disgusted.

How can anyone in that boardroom look upon this mess and think that this will be turned around quickly and efficiently?

    It’s only going one way.
    Time to stop the bleeding.

Lost a lot of youth players recently. Easy to sit back & say well what have any of them done since they left, but that completely overlooks the problem we have of our youth players rather being at any club than West Ham.

Second video of yours I've watched in as many weeks. I'd heard this lad was high on our list, makes more sense than buying the lad from Leeds. Your other video was about Rice. Newcastle have bought very smart since the takeover. £38m for Bruno G who's real quality, Botman for £33 again real quality. I don't see the Club spending around a £100m for Rice, they're clever with their money which is shown by taking your young player instead of the Leeds lad. There's a couple I've heard we're looking for in Rice's position but I've never heard him mentioned. I think agents and possibly West Ham are pushing Newcastle interest to raise price. I'd be shocked to see us sign him.

The thing is gonzo about us staying us moyes need to go for that to happen and this was obviously the perfect time would of aloud a new manager 6 weeks to basically get ready and moyes will be sacked because we won't beat arsenal or Brentford and I'm struggling to see anything more than a point against Leeds

Hi Gonzo, firstly I would like to wish him well…. What's going on at our club, after a decent two years it's completely unraveling, wether it's the Board or Moyes we have now most definitely returned to the era of BILLY SMARTS….. COYI !!!🤬

Gonzo loving the videos as always mate. Can u make a video about Aboubakar. I think we need to buy him. I think he would fit in perfect in our team as a another striker option. Such an underrated striker!!

How can you blame the board for this? Its 100% on our useless dinosaur manager,do you think if Moyes had managed Ashby correctly and told the board he was a key player for him moving forward they wouldnt have offered him a good deal?

    Morning Gonzo

There is a really worrying trend amongst West Ham and our youth players:

If there aren't the correct players aren't being signed by the scouts…we need to find out why!

If they are good enough for the academy, why doesn't Moyes want them? Does he deem them not good enough?

Or, do the youngsters of today just have zero patience and want it ALL the minute they've made their pro debut? And if they are told to wait…they're gone.

We have 2 lads now in Ashby and Coventry that obviously love the club, and are highly rated by the academy but are now going to be cut loose. Did the board and Moyes see the "Noble effect" from back in May??

Having a home grown player in and around the squad…so much so, 7 months later they've re-employed him?! The young lads can obviously perform, we saw it in Europe. So why don't we use them more? Something tells me that Moyes is super fussy about who he uses from the academy and they see their careers blocked by moyes using his favourites

As much as I’m not a fan of Moyes, maybe they have seen something that says he’s not good enough at this level and it’s not just about the money.
How many of these academy players have gone on and shown otherwise?
Oxford and Diangana spring to mind, considering the turmoil with the players when the latter moved on. He can’t even hold a regular spot at WBA now.

I think time during the world cup clouds some peoples judgement in thinking all is well. It's not. Arsenal loss, leeds loss, Everton who knows then we are right back in trouble with another 9 points down the drain.

Ashby is a very good prospect, I`m annoyed that our club never really pursues with our youth team players long enough – we used to have a great academy with the kids making the transition, but this is Moyes fault as far as Im concerned – if we are going to sell our young players, them I hope we introduce clauses that should they make it big time, we then get some financial reward from the sell-on further down the line.

  14. BARRY HOLMAN

There seems to be a catch 22 issue. Moyes will not play these youngsters, hence the Board cannot justify paying them the higher wages associated with first team prospective players. Does this mean we train them and then give them away. Cannot see the purpose of any academy and should that be the case, it would appear to be a money pit. Something must be going terribly wrong.

  15. Paul Chambers

    Alright Gonzo
Oh my days what is happening to our club??? Yes we knew Ashby would likely leave, but we need to question why it becomes an issue…its ridiculous that we have 4 right backs, 3 of which moyes doesnt seem convinced of, and the best one is leaving. And our long term left back position shouldn't really be an issue if we have Longello and Scarles within our academy, but will either get the chance under moyes?? Giving them an odd game then not integrating them on a steady timescale is poor management. One of them could or should be Cresswell understudy this season so they are given experience and knowledge of the first teamers.
There is something massively going wrong at our club if our best players, our new signings AND our academy players are disillusioned and looking to leave.
