James needs to give his head a shake!

If Newcastle weren’t taken over they would be in the Championship or worse by now, and would be begging to have the likes of Eddie in there.

This caller speaks the truth that none of the fans will admit. Howe is simply average but for sure a nice guy. Vast majority of Newcastle fans are happy with mediocrity and that’s a sad fact. Just happy to be out of the shadow of the Ashley days. Their own motto is demanding a club that tries and not wins lol

Hi fellow football fans! Is easy to be critical! Especially Newcastle Fans, you been thru hell for the last 1.5 decades. Easy to forget! Alex Fergie did not have instant success when he started in Man U!

Our expected position in the league is 7th. No one believes we are top 6. Given we currently lead the league in injuries by a decent margin and that doesnt even count missing argubly the best or one of the best players we have to a ban, I dont think its as bad as we think. Our championship calibre players are playing back to their old standards this year (almiron, longstaff). Our midfield has had no balance since missing joelington and/or tonali. Every midfield bullies us because we have no athleticism in the mid now. We have struggled to have a fit striker. Often gordon has been filling that role lately. We have the toughest opening fixtures of any team in the league and we've just gone through that part for the second time now so the rest of the season should in theory be easier. We had a brutal carabao draw and an even tougher UCL group. I think if we can push back to like 8th or 7th thats probably expected or even better than expected given injuries.

Eddie hasn't had the chance to take us forward yet.
    FFP wont allow us yet.
Players are just starting to come back for us .
Some fans tend to forget before the takeover we were always fighting relegation.
It takes time to get to the top tiers .

First caller is right we made Blackburn look like prime Barcelona at times! Outplayed for most of the game and the fact we won doesn't paper over the cracks.. we are in awful form, relegation form and are looking over our shoulder in 10th not looking up the league.

In Eddie Howes first full season I Would've expected at minimum a top 10 position after finishing 11th, ignoring the overachiement there's no excuses to not finish in the top 8 this season. We have had injuries but before the season started everyone could see the squad was not improved enough over the summer and that's down to Eddie Howe. If he doesn't finish top 8 I will want him gone in the summer.

Don't disagree with a lot of the 1st points but don't think getting rid of the manager is an answer. Obviously confidence has dropped, there are players out and even with players coming back they are going to be some way short of full fitness.

Why did Newcastle sell Maximan and Almiron? Anyone ? Not a Newcastle fan but I used to love watching those two play. Surely Newcastle fans would have been pissed at losing almiron. What’s the deal

  9. @peace4peaceful

Its strange isnt it. It doesnt matter how long they stay in the game, some managers are just not good students of the game.
Spurs face the same issue. We should be able to play in a way that suits all players. The high press doesnt work. Its ok for a little while but you end up compressing the game too much.
If we have one or both of our speedy wide backs out, were in trouble. Ange played exciting football. Now though hes been found out. Like Eddie

Looking at this season tells me Last season was a fluke, and the excuses are simply silly coming from Eddies lips. There are better managers out there and one should be given a chance perhaps they would have won a few more games than the current manager has. That said maybe we would have been in the League Cup final maybe we would still be in Europe and maybe we might be in the top four in the premier league. But the one certainty is we are struggling and getting worse with perhaps a second rate manager in charge.

  11. @andyh323

He can be frustrating I agree but how would any manager cope with 50%+ of their first team players being unavailable throughout the bulk of the season, then when they come back they are not match fit for many games?

That is what Howe is still faced with and without two absolutely essential players: Pope (sweeper keeper) and Joelinton (midfield enforcer). Also no youth players, like Liverpool, other than Miley, because of years of Ashley negligence.

  12. @stevecooke2893

That first caller was right, he's gonna get slated and rightly so. We've just come back from a hungry arsenal, our lads back haven't been given a chance to fit back in yet, we still haven't got our most important piece in defence, Pope (although Dubravka tries his best bless him), still no big joe so we got problems in midfield, Isak clearly isn't back to best despite his best effort. Most importantly, we won, what's the problem? Need i go on?
Eddie needs a striker to replace Wilson with some pace and a little strengthening from the bench to avoid another injury crisis, the fringe players we got are leaving slowly due to contract length. It's gonna take years until we get all this sorted and not even pep could succeed until these problems are sorted. If you haven't got the patience, put down the stripes and head to old Trafford, they like ppl who throw a wobbler when they don't get their way
